Winding down the Burpeethon

Indiana Jones saying "Burpees ... why did it have to be burpees?"Ten days later, and donations are beginning to slow up, so it’s time to wind up both the 2017 event and the Burpeethon project in general.

This year, we raised £1,603.59 for Scottish Women’s Aid (as of 28/02/17), which works out as 32p per burpee. Every penny is going direct to a worthwhile cause – supporting SWA in their work to end domestic violence.

Over the three years we ran the Burpeethon, 77 volunteers did 27,780 burpees and raised £7,657 in donations.

I cannot thank you enough for all of your support over the years. What started as a daft idea back in November 2014 has done a lot of good for the world, something I could not have achieved on my own. Your support, be it through volunteering, donations and by spreading the word, has been invaluable.

As much as I would have loved the Burpeethon to continue, becoming bigger and better, it has run out of steam. It’s time to call it a day.

Donations are still welcome at https://www.justgiving.com/companyteams/burpeethon2017, but as of today the project and this website is going into archive mode.

Best wishes,

Em Saanen
